Welcome

Welcome to our blog! Here you can get a peak into our classroom and see the learning in action! The blog will be updated frequently, so please check back often. The students love it when parents and other loved ones see what they're doing in preschool. This also allows you to get more from the question, "What did you do in preschool today?" because you can just take a look at the blog with your child and he/she can explain what we did.

February Fun in the Fireflies Class

February was packed with lots of learning fun!!  We had Presidents' Day and Valentines Day to celebrate. We also got to learn about ways to take care of our teeth in honor of Dental Health month.

Here are some pictures of our Valentines activities.  We passed out Valentines first and then did our Valentines centers.  We made Valentines necklaces, sorted and counted candy hearts and played another counting game with hearts and dice.  We rolled the die, added that number to our heart and then counted how many all together.  We kept going until we got 10 hearts and then we started all over again!

After learning about how we can take care of our teeth, we got to paint with toothbrushes!  Don't you wish you could come to preschool with us every day?

The last week of February we got to count using fish, butterflies, buttons and frogs.  We made four sets of 2, then four sets of 3, then four sets of 4 and finally four sets of 5.  This helped us learn to count objects accurately.

Garden of Friends: Fireflies

Our theme for September was Friendship and Getting to Know You.  As a culminating activity, we made a garden of friends in which each child made a poster of all their preschool friends.

Exploring Geoboards: Leap Frogs

The geoboards were quite a hit with this group of students!  They couldn't wait to show us the cool designs they could make with rubber bands.  Another great thing about exploring with geoboards is that it helps the students work on their fine motor skills as they stretch the rubber bands over the pegs.
